TERMS OF USE
Last updated: October 2026. Using Buildonia means you accept these terms.
ACCEPTABLE USE
- Please keep to one window per person. Human checks, rate limits, and moderation reduce abuse, but a site without accounts or verified identity cannot guarantee one-per-human across every device and network. The whole point is that every person gets a window of their own, so please do not take several. Your own space is enough.
- Names and content must not be hateful, harassing, sexual, violent, or impersonate someone else. Your name and any line you write in your own words are checked before they go up, so the building stays kind.
- No bots, scripts, automated claiming, or scraping-to-clone. Rate limits and bot checks exist, and getting around them breaks these terms.
- No manipulating Nations or other shared features through fake residents or automation.
- Windows are not property and may not be sold, auctioned, or transferred for value. A window key is a door key, not a deed of ownership, and we cannot promise it stays yours for life.
MODERATION
We may remove or rename any window that breaks these terms, including windows claimed before a rule changed, without notice, at our sole discretion. That power exists to protect the building's residents.
We may also pause or remove any of the site's services, or change any of its features, as we judge right for the project to grow into something better.
OUR CONTENT
Buildonia's name, pixel artwork, building design, writing, and code are original work and protected. You're welcome to screenshot, stream, and share the building (please credit and link). You may not copy the site, its art, or its concept into a competing product.
YOUR CONTENT
Whatever you place on your window (a name, the line you chose) you license to us to display publicly as part of the building, including in shared link previews and the public livestream display.
If you want your window deleted, email info@buildonia.com. We will remove the window and its lighting history for you.
HONEST LIMITS
- This is an experimental service: no guarantee that it keeps running, that your data is kept, or that it stays available. Keep your window key safe. We cannot recover lost keys.
- No guarantee that any feature stays unchanged. Features may be added, changed, or removed.
- The service may be suspended or ended entirely. We'd hate to, but this document has to say it plainly: the project is still an experiment.
LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Buildonia and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from use of (or inability to use) this service.
